I can confirm that the pool car park will close from the end of the day on Sunday 12 April, and will be closed for the entirety of the construction. Following this closure, parking will be available for free for Swimming Centre Club users at the Forum Car Park, St George’s Way and the Multi-Storey Car Park. Both of these have spaces for blue badge parking.
Additionally, an agreement has been reached with the neighbouring Bowes Lyon to allow their parking facility to be used for drop-off and pick-up for those with the highest accessibility needs until the pedestrian crossing is installed across St Georges Way. Securing the remaining permissions for the crossing is in the final stages and work is due to commence in early May. It will take approximately eight weeks to complete the crossing.
Users will need to register their vehicle registration numbers at the reception desk on arrival at the Swimming Centre Reception and parking will be free for two hours.
We will be working with Stevenage Leisure, Stevenage Council and The Construction Company throughout the entire build process and will keep you updated as much as we can.
If you have any questions, please speak to me or one of the Club volunteers and we will do our best to provide answers or address any concerns.
